Riley Consultants Graduate Programs & Internships

  • Engineering Consulting

Joining our graduate cohort is more than just a job, it’s an adventure.

We’re a proudly New Zealand owned consultancy of 100 staff with offices in Auckland and Christchurch.  Passionate about great engineering, and technical excellence, we provide a range of solutions to clients in the energy, land and water sectors across Aotearoa and the Pacific.  Our specialist capabilities cover civil, water, geotechnical and environmental engineering disciplines.

We are the sweet spot - large enough to offer incredible career opportunities, and small enough that everyone knows your name. We don’t stand on hierarchy at Riley.  We are a workplace where transparency is valued and collaboration is king.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be doing anything from site investigations and technical design to project management tasks and analysis and interpretation.  One of our graduates told us recently ‘I haven’t done the same thing twice’ and that sums it up really, you’ll find variety here – working outdoors on a site, at the office or sometimes from home.

You’ll work on a wide range of projects too, supported by a diverse team of technical experts.

Recruitment Process

Applications

We are looking for graduates who have initiative, have a hunger to learn and are open to take on new opportunities.   You can apply online with your CV and a cover letter that provides insights into who you are and what you're looking for in a graduate role.

Let us know if you have a specific area of engineering that you are interested in and attach a copy of your most recent transcript.

Phone Screening

If you meet the criteria from our initial screening, we will be in contact with you to have a quick chat about your application and ask a few questions to get to know you a bit more and explain the next step in our process.

Interviews

If you are shortlisted, someone from our recruitment team will be in touch with you to organise an interview.  We will invite you to come in person (if possible) and you will be able to see our office, meet some of the team and share more about yourself.

Selections/Offers

If you are successful, someone from our team will be in touch to discuss a job offer.
